[ So yes, pretty familiar. Though how familiar Vanitas isn't going to get into. But he's part of the "problem" that's making the Heartless such a widespread problem. ]
What I want has never changed. Master Xehanort has another plan, but I just want to be whole.
There was no teaching on that front. Darkness is what I am. Half of a whole. We were split apart, my other half and I. He carries the Light within while I bear the Darkness that we tried so desperately to hide.
[ Which is the truth of it. Vanitas and Ventus are two halves. One of Light and one of Darkness. ]
So control of it comes naturally to you? [Hm. It does sound… sort of similar to what he's been told, and… not.]. Ah… I see, I think. Though you both have your own bodies?
[…he kind of wants to poke Vanitas to see for sure.]
That's not how it works. Anyone who can learn magic can use whatever element they want. Though people with an affinity for Darkness can put that twist on their spells. You also wouldn't catch me using Light-affiliated magics either.
I fear I wasn't as familiar with magic as some before my arrival, but… it does make sense. The source of it being the pure element on your own star, then?
That doesn't seem right. Many people seem to be managing…. What have you been doing?
[ It isn't quite like that but Vanitas doesn't really know how to explain it. Magic on different worlds can be fundamentally different, but to those that have Keyblades, their magic can work anywhere and defy the rules of the world. Maybe it just has something to do with the ability to traverse worlds in general.
It is... strange, and somewhat discomforting to feel yourself changing this way. It seems tied to the full moons- I noticed rather more feathers after my second moon here.
It varies according to each person, as far as I've been able to tell. I'm sure you've noticed the variety of peoples in the city. And yes, they do- somewhat diminished at times, but not always.

Ah? Are you familiar with him, then? [That's… well. He has to wonder- why?]. What do you want in the end, then?

[Which… mm. Kind of concrning? But. He'll see where this goes.]
Whole? And… Darkness would help you with that? Why are you not whole?
[It sounds… a little similar, and he tilts his head in question.]

[ That should go without saying at this point. ]
Yes, we have our own bodies. He got to keep OUR body and I have this...
[ It might be a sore topic. ]
no subject
[…ah. Hm. Probably best not to actually poke, then, but-]
But it is still your body, correct? The one you have now.

Element. What do you mean is that the only element I have?

[Given how much that seems to change.]

This is unstable.
[ Only because Vanitas has no bond, of course. ]

Studying. Practicing. That's about it.

Have you been practicing with anyone?

It can help you- even if it's simply to exchange ideas and see where you could make changes.
no subject
And how is that working out for you and all your changes?
no subject
[He shrugs a little, wings shifting with the movement.]
It hasn't been pleasant. But I imagine it would be worse to be alone and going through this.
[At least they haven't been alone in these changes- it's not much consolation, but it's something.]

Hasn't been pleasant in what sense? How does it even start?
