[ Which makes Vanitas gesture to Thancred and his spread out wings. Yes, being a witch is a better alternative to being a monster in the most literal of senses. He's already one as he sees it. ]

But no. I haven't heard anything like that. Maybe the places I've been to just don't have those sorts of creatures.

I suppose that's true enough. Though Ventus doesn't seem overly bothered by any of it.

[ Not outwardly at any rate. Maybe on the inside? Hard for Vanitas to know like this. ]

Ventus? That's… ah, dare I presume that to be the name of your other half?

That's his name, yes. A name I had to give up when we were separated.

What of your name, then? How do you feel about it?

It's a name that was given to me as more of a descriptor of my origins than anything else.

[ So it is what it is. ]

I see. [he tilts his head for a moment, considering. It's probably… similar enough to some roots, considering how Garlemald seems to be.]. Do you feel it still apt to yourself now?

It likely still fits. A reminder that life is transitional and that, after all this time, I am still empty.
