[It certainly isn't their first Valentine's Day together. The other boy should be expecting something over the top from someone like Sora. But this year's gift might be something a little overly dramatic. Perhaps it's because he also wants to say sorry for the issues he had with the bleeding heart creature in his chest earlier in the month or maybe the dramatic effect of emulating Romeo is still in his system.

Either way. Vanitas will find a large collection of red and black roses and a whole homemade chocolate cake.]

[ Oh Vanitas expects it. He more than expects it and has his own gift ready too. So once he gets the flowers, he rolls his eyes. Finds a place on the stupid kitchen table to put them where they can get enough sun. Mira had taught him that much.

Then snatches up his gift and the cake and goes to hunt Sora down. With two forks. ]

Cottontail. Come out come out wherever you are.

[Sora is playing innocent when he hears that voice. He smiles and drapes himself over the bed cushions dramatically.]

I'm over here! I'm guessing you found something cupid left behind?

[He snickers.]

If by "Cupid" you mean a bratty boyfriend, then yeah.

[ Vanitas rolls his eyes. Pulls a chair up next to the bed. ]

You know I can't eat this thing all by myself. So are you going to help me or not?

[Back in May- Sora spent a lot of time with Susato winning gaming tickets so that Sora could get the biggest prize he could find at the Flower Festival. It happened to be a large black rabbit plushy that Sora specifically had his eyes on to win for Vanitas. At the end of the flower festival he gifted it to Vanitas!]

[ With the power of magic, a small box was able to find its way to Vanitas. If he opens the box he'll find a little hairclip, the design made out of a light piece of wood and painted over. There's a note attached too. ]

I don't know much about these holiday things, but I've been told this time of year is a time to show appreciation for someone, so I made this for you. It might not be something you're interested in wearing and that's okay. I just wanted to give you a little token of my appreciation. You helped me out and you've been a lot of fun to talk to, so I hope my feelings have been conveyed properly.

[ Sometime during the week leading towards Valentine's Day, Sora and Vanitas will come home to find a large basket with two chocolate bunnies with decorative yellow ribbons tied around their necks, surrounded by chocolate flowers.

The basket similarly decorated, the display having clearly had some effort put into it, and attached is a note that reads: ]

To Sora and Vanitas:
Happy Valentine's Day! I hope you like chocolates. I hear they taste better when shared.

[GUESS WHO'S BRITHDAY IT IS TODAY. IT'S VANITAS' BIRTHDAY. And Sora's too- BUT IT'S VANITAS' BIRTHDAY. 🎁 🌷

And Sora has a very specific gift in mind for the other boy this time around. He doesn't care of it's cliche or weird it's been something he's picked out for a while now. Ever since Vanitas got him a ring. It only makes sense that Sora gets him one in return, right?

When they're alone Sora will gift a small simple red box to Vanitas. And inside is a specifically made ring that has the words, "two souls one heart" engraved on the inside.]

It was sort of inevitable. A long time coming. With all of the nightmare and negative around mixed with other peoples' emotions?

Of course I was going to take all that in whether I wanted to or not.
